πŸ’°Punters Club Cup GF πŸ‡4 G1s @ The Championships 🍺#CoVidLife

April 14, 2020

So, someone chowing down on a cave-chicken changed the world forever. It has robbed us of our AFL, NRL, NBA, MLB, and everyone (who still has a job) now has to WFH. WTAF?

Thank Christ (hey, it’s that time of year right?) we’ve still got racing. And the timing couldn’t be better, with no less than four Group 1s lighting up The Championships at Royal Randwick tomorrow (best bets below).

Perhaps the only good thing about #CoVidLife is the meme action that has been flying around and this one is up there – and let’s face it, the people buying six tonnes of toilet paper aren’t exactly knocking down the doors at MENSA. Between races tomorrow we will have a best meme competition on our FB page and lob a $100 bonus bet to the winner (assuming they’re an existing customer of course!).

Panic buying,

Jason & the Punt Club Crew

p.s. In related news we’ve had to push our Punters Club Cup superyacht caper back to The Everest, where 2019’s Spring Cup winners will join the victorious club from tomorrow’s Autumn Grand Final punt-off on the good ship Element followed by a day swanning around a private tent at the world’s richest turf race. Stay tuned next week for your chance to join them…

BEST BETS – HORSES

A huge crowd of SFA all will be on hand Saturday at Randwick to witness the running of several quality races, but our eyes lean towards the sprinters and in the TJ Smith stakes we like No.1 Nature Strip. Can be as trusting a fart after Indian food, but on his day he is the best sprinter in the land. We think this suits and will be on board at the $3.60 being thrown around.

Our best bet of the day is R4, No.3 Colette. Looks to be a potential Oaks filly and this will be her chance to prove it. Brings solid form with 2 wins on the trot in the Provincials and that rings our bell (not everyone will get that reference…..) Get on her at $2.20.

And for value, No.1 Melody Belle in R9. Has a handy G1 record having placed in some crackers the last 12 months, and looks to be peaking 3rd up. Get amongst her at $7.00

Winning!

HORSES & SPORTS

Doncaster Mile Day – Randwick

R1: 4 Damaged – Broke maiden last start and this looks the ideal arrangement ($4.20/$1.70)

R2: 4 Kubrick – Soft ground will suit and this looks to be more his class ($5/00/$1.40)

R3: 1 Bobbing – Got in via a slashing win last start, and over the wet ground at 1400m he ticks the boxes ($4.00/$1.75)

R4: 3 Colette – Brings in winning form with 2 on the trot and look set for this ($2.20/$1.30)

R5: 12 Gayatri – Just missed last start but will be eating up this distance on a ground with give while carrying SFA ($8.50/$2.90)

R6: 1 Mamaragan – Fought strongly in the Slipper and the soft ground will be ideal here ($3.20/$1.55)

R7: 1 Castelvecchio – Will love the distance and will be just flying home ($2.80/$1.35)

R8: 1 Nature Strip – Inside gate and if he gets to the front he smashes them ($3.60/$1.55)

R9: 1 Melody Belle – Solid G1 record and should be peaking 3rd up ($7.00/$2.50)

R10: 2 Rubisaki – A properly good 3-year-old and has been kept in trim for this ($2.05/$1.26)
