A Wild Vixen Converges for the Chase

June 10, 2021

Horses

Eagle Farm Race 7 – G1 J.J Atkins – 1600m
#2 Converge – $3.50

Absolutely motored late last start! Looks to have really come on since arriving in QLD and only has to hold that form to be very hard to beat in this. Gets the good gate and can race a little handier as it normally does, should be in front of his main dangers and if he shows the same turn of foot, he should be winning.

Eagle Farm Race 8 – G1 Stradbroke Handicap – 1400m
#18 Apache Chase – $11/$3.50

3YO Gelding that gets in this race right down in the weights. We know what we will get with this bloke, he will jump and run. For a Group 1 1400m race there doesn’t look to be an abundance of early speed. Jim Byrne will look to carve out even sectionals in front and with no weight on his back, if he goes like he did last start, he can be very hard to run down. Represents a solid each way play in what looks a wide open affair!

Eagle Farm Race 9 – G2 Dane Ripper Stakes – 1300m
#11 Wild Vixen – $41/$8.50

Wide open mares race to finish the day and I’m willing to have a nibble at this mare at huge odds. Last start in Adelaide she raced off the fence and was beaten by Brooklyn Hustle, who she meets here again, but no J Kah for Brooklyn Hustle today and concedes Wild Vixen 1.5KG’s from that encounter. Has shown previously that she can race well at Eagle Farm and although she will need luck from the gate, she can run much better than her odds suggest. Something small, more the place in a tricky race.

NRL

Saturday

Canberra Raiders ($1.33) VS Brisbane Broncos ($3.25) – GIO Stadium

Brisbane are going with yet another pairing in the halves, this time Karmichael Hunt makes his return to the NRL, the last time he played in the NRL Instagram wasn’t even a thing. So, it has been a while. Both sides have shown zero interest in defence and as we have seen with these new rules, when you stop tackling the points pile up. Back the overs and watch the tries.

Suggested Bet – Total Match Points Over 49.5 @ $1.90

Sunday

Parramatta Eels ($1.28) VS Wests Tigers ($3.70) – Bankwest Stadium

Neither side has been greatly affected by Origin but Parramatta will be without hooker Reed Mahoney, and his loss will be felt hard. The Tigers have managed to turn their season around and are playing some decent footy. This is a game they will fancy their chances and look a decent bet to cover the line.

Suggested Bet – Wests Tigers +11.5 @ $1.90

AFL

Saturday

St Kilda ($1.78) VS Adelaide Crows ($2.05) – Cazaly’s Stadium, Cairns

We venture to Cairns for this clash against two sides looking to bounce back after a loss. St Kilda will be looking to atone for some poor finishing that cost them last week against the Swans. The Crows have slumped to just one win from their last eight matches. If St Kilda can finish better, they can come away with a win.

Suggested Bet – St Kilda -2.5 @ $1.90

Monday

Melbourne ($1.19) VS Collingwood ($4.75) – SCG

Melbourne are firm favourites to make it 3 wins in a row after their hiccup in round 10. Collingwood were able to notch up a much needed win against The Crows last round but Melbourne should be able to cover the line.

Suggested Bet – Melbourne -28.5 @ $1.90
