AFL Round 12 – Punt Club

AFL Round 12

June 4, 2021

Friday night kicks off with a cracker! There’s 6 teams with a bye this round and games being transferred but we’ll do our best to sort through it all and find a collect or two. A winner or two will be good for us all in these hard times of lockdown and the bloody plague.

Don’t forget Ladbrokes are offering a $2 line for Friday’s blockbuster match, here’s who we like;

Melbourne ($2) VS Brisbane Lions ($1.82) – Giants Stadium

This shapes as a ripping clash and the game of the round! There has been heavy support for the Lions since Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale and key defender Ryan Lester were named, and for good reason. With their inclusion and the Lions ability to pile on goals, they can get the job done in the neutral venue that is GIANTS Stadium.

Suggested Bet – Brisbane Lions -1.5 @ $2

Sydney Swans ($1.33) VS St Kilda ($3.35) – SCG

Sydney get the advantage of playing at home where they are 5 – 0 playing against interstate opposition. The Saints were less than convincing when beating the struggling North Melbourne, this is a much stiffer assignment and they have to play in Sydney. The Swans can make this their 8th win of the season by winning well and getting one step closer to a top 8 finish.

Suggested Bet – Sydney Swans -20.5 @ $1.90

Adelaide Crows ($1.48) VS Collingwood ($2.65) – Adelaide Oval

Brodie Grundy is a big loss for the Pies who were already struggling. Adelaide have had their worries on the road but at home this season they are 3-2, with that advantage and the Pies woes and injury toll, the Crows can get the job done here.

Suggested Bet – Adelaide Crows -13.5 @ $1.90

Essendon ($2.50) VS Richmond ($1.53) – Optus Stadium

The ‘Dreamtime’ match has been transferred to Optus Stadium and whilst the Tigers have a very good record against Essendon and in this annual clash, I expect Essendon to be very competitive. There has been a sprinkling of money for Essendon and I’m giving them a strong hope too.

Suggested Bet – Essendon +11.5 @ $1.90

Carlton ($1.53) VS West Coast Eagles ($2.50) – SCG

There’s been good money for Carlton since prices went up and understandably so, considering West Coast’s poor record away from home, especially at the SCG. Carlton will be desperate for a win and a return to form for Patrick Cripps last week will only help their chances. Carlton to cover the line.

Suggested Bet – Carlton -11.5 @ $1.90

Fremantle ($3.20) VS Western Bulldogs ($1.35) – Optus Stadium

It looks like Matt Taberner will return for Fremantle, which will be a welcome inclusion to a side that has struggled to finish in front of goal. The Bulldogs suffered their second defeat of the season last round and will be looking to bounce back, but they face the daunting task of playing at Optus Stadium where Fremantle are 4-0 against interstate teams. Fremantle can cause an upset here.

Suggested bet – Fremantle +16.5 @ $1.90
