So it would seem that the AFL has decided to base itself in the bizarro world after the plague scare, and everything is back to front. If someone had said in early March that Port vs Brisbane was a potential Grand Final matchup, we would have told them to see a doctor. Fitting looking back, cause most of the world needed to see a doctor anyway.
A horse walks into a bar and approaches the manager. “Excuse me, good sir,” the horse says, “are you hiring?”
The manager is taken back, and looks the horse up and down and says, “Wow….. No. Sorry. We aren’t my friend. Maybe should try the circus ?”
The horse narrows his eyes, shakes his head slowly from side to side and begins to laugh. “Why would the circus need a bartender?”

Geelong will welcome Gold Coast to GMHBA Stadium with the Suns sitting second on the ladder. But, this will be their first trip outside of Qld this season, and their record in Geelong is ordinary. And while the Cats just fell in last week, this is a huge chance to make a statement about where they are at and to show the Suns that it ain’t all just good times. Geelong by 39 or less at $1.80.
And Sunday arvo will see Fremantle meet Adelaide with both sides apparently not reading the email saying that the season has actually started. Both sides are without a win this year, and both are feeling the effects of injuries with big names out. We can’t pick a winner. Which, to be fair, a few people have said about us anyway…… What we don’t see is a lot of points being scored so we are backing Under 123.5 Total points at $1.87.

St George will meet Canberra tonight with both sides coming off a losses, with the Dragons valiant in defeat against the reigning Premiers. Bookies have installed the Raiders as favs, but we can’t help but see the Dragons effort last week as more than honourable, and while Canberra is back home for the first time this year, St George by 12 or less at $4.25 sticks in our mind as a value bet.
And Saturday afternoon… this is the opposite of when an irresistible force meets immovable object….. it looks like this will decide the winner of something, though that thing is the wooden spoon. Both sides on Struggle St, and their history shows that they don’t score a lot of points against each other. Our bet is Under 43.5 Total points at $1.90.

One of the better cold winter race days will take place at Flemington this week with Finals Day, and our best bet of the day is R6, No.5 La Tigeresa. Has had a couple of runs this prep that has helped build fitness without being stressed, and the wide-open space of Flemington will suit her perfectly. Get the $4.80 on offer. Our value bet of the day is in R9, No.2 Beauty Bolt. Is proven over softer ground and will be improving off the last start run here. $7.50 is where she is at. To quote Homer Simpson, “I like those odds!”
