NRL Finals Week 1 – Punt Club

NRL Finals Week 1

September 10, 2021

Here we go, baby! (In Gus’ voice)…How good is finals footy. Fair dinkum, the Storm v Manly game Friday night is enough to get Eeyore excited!

Our good mates and sparring partners at Ladbrokes are doing $2 lines for ALL finals games this week! Get amongst it punters.

Melbourne Storm ($1.36) VS Manly Sea Eagles ($3.10) – Sunshine Coast Stadium

What a way to kick off finals footy! These two clashed back in round 21 where Melbourne came out on top 28 to 18, thanks mainly to having 58% possession and Manly only being tackled once inside Melbourne’s 20m for the first 58 minutes of the game! With the Storm having ALL the early ball it was still locked up 8 all at halftime. Every attacking chance Manly got they just about scored. I think Manly can upset the minor premiers, bring it on!

Suggested bet – Manly Sea Eagles +8.5 @ $2

Sydney Roosters ($1.26) VS Gold Coast Titans ($3.90) – QLD Country Bank Stadium

The Roosters welcome back Victor Radley which not only tightens up their middle defence but also gives them more width in attack, as Radley will play a lot of first receiver. Big Gus Crichton will relish the task of defending Fifita, who has been eerily quiet in big games including Origin this year. Won’t be pretty but the Chooks can cover.

Suggested bet – Sydney Roosters -12 @ $2

Penrith Panthers ($1.24) VS South Sydney Rabbitohs ($4.10) – QLD Country Bank Stadium

It’s a shame Latrell tried to rearrange Manu’s face a fortnight ago as this would have been an epic clash had he been playing. Mitchell is crucial to the left edge attack of the Bunnies and he simply can’t be replaced. Penny on the other hand is just starting to hit their straps again with Captain Cleary leading the way. Bunnies will muscle up early but Penny will run away late.

Suggested bet – Penrith Panthers -12 @ $2

Parramatta Eels ($1.40) VS Newcastle Knights ($3) – Browne Park, Rockhampton

If you had Browne Park in Rockhampton hosting NRL finals footy on your 2021 bingo card, congratulations and go collect! This game has the potential to be the most one-sided of the lot. Parra put a reserve grade side out last week against a full-strength Penrith and were right in it at halftime, before being blown away late. The week prior their big guns destroyed the Storm. They are unpredictable the Eels, but they look to be coming good at the right time. The Knights are the Knights.

Suggested bet – Parramatta Eels -8 @ $2
