NRL GF Preview

September 30, 2021

It’s been some season and it all comes to a close Sunday night at Suncorp Stadium when the Penrith Panthers ($1.74) do battle with the South Sydney Rabbitohs ($2.35). Will Nathan Cleary and his Panthers avenge last year’s heartbreaking grand final loss? Or will it be a fairytale for the retiring Benji Marshall and another feather in the cap of wily Wayne Bennett?

Here’s my preview of the big dance and if you like any of my suggested bets just click the attaching link and it will take you straight to the market:

Who wins?

Considering the Bunnies win in week 1 of the finals over the Panthers, there looks to be some value about Souths. The Panthers have had a few gut busters in the lead up to this and it was no different last week when narrowly beating the Storm. The Bunnies on the other hand cruised past Manly and had the game wrapped up a long way from home. Latrell’s suspension will still be felt but they discarded of Penrith without him in week 1 of the finals. I’ll be backing old Wayne and the Bunnies to win.

BACK SOUTHS SYDNEY RABBITOHS TO WIN

What’s the line?

The Bunnies are a bet with a 3.5 point start for the reasons mentioned above. Ladbrokes have kindly bet $2 lines on all finals and it would be rude not to take them up on their offer one last time!

BACK SOUTHS SYDNEY RABBITOHS AT THE LINE

Who scores a try?

Souths’ attack is very simple, the whole world knows they will attack left but stopping them is another thing. Alex Johnston finished the season as the leading try scorer and if the Bunnies are to have success, he’s a great chance to score a try.

BACK ALEX JOHNSTON ANYTIME TRY SCORER

What will be the total match points?

Grand final pressure mixed with defensive resolve should see this a real grind and low scoring. Don’t expect many set restarts or soft penalties like we saw during Magic Round, they will let the boys play.

BACK UNDER 37.5 TOTAL MATCH POINTS

Who wins the Clive Churchill Medal?

My thinking here is if you think Penrith can win – you back Cleary to get Clive Churchill. If Penny does win he is odds on to get it. For the Bunnies, I like Damien Cook, he’ll be in the thick of things in the middle of the field where I expect this game to be won. He can test some tired forwards with his speed late in each half and looks set to make a million tackles (maybe not that many but you get my point).

BACK DAMIEN COOK TO WIN CLIVE CHURCHILL

Love a Same Game Multi?

I’ll be backing the Bunnies to win into Alex Johnston anytime try scorer into under 37.5 total match points @ $9.30. ODDS BOOST if you can!

Good luck with all your bets and enjoy the game!
