NRL Round 15 – Punt Club

NRL Round 15

June 17, 2021

Tricky time in the season where coaches and players are managing rosters and injuries through the Origin period. The Panthers have been most affected, dropping their last 2 consecutive games, something they haven’t done for quite some time.

Ladbrokes have $2 lines for Thursday and Friday’s games so take advantage of the little extra cream on top when you can!

Thursday

Brisbane Broncos ($6.20) VS South Sydney Rabbitohs ($1.13) – Suncorp Stadium

The Bunnies look like being at full strength with Cook, Murray, Gagai and Arrow all likely to play. Brisbane on the other hand, well I have nothing nice to say, so I won’t say anything at all. With the Gee man officiating, we can expect a fast pace and the Bunnies left edge attack could have a field day. Bunnies by plenty.

Suggested Bet – South Sydney Rabbitohs -18.5 @ $2

Friday

North Queensland Cowboys ($1.78) VS Cronulla Sharks ($2.02) – QLD Country Bank Stadium

The Cowboys were woeful last week, getting absolutely flogged by an understrength Manly side. The Sharks knocked off an understrength Panthers side. Going off what we saw last week from the Cows, where they were manhandled when Taumalolo sat on the bench, I’m surprised the Sharks are outsiders. They look enticing at the plus.

Suggested Bet – Cronulla Sharks +2 @ $2

Penrith Panthers ($1.28) VS Sydney Roosters ($3.70) – BlueBet Stadium

Penrith look likely to welcome back Nathan Cleary and a bunch of Origin players, they will be a completely different side this week as opposed to the last fortnight. The Roosters have been hanging in all season but are still understrength. They now meet a Panthers side desperate to not drop 3 in a row. If Cleary plays, take the Panthers minus.

Suggested Bet – Penrith Panthers -11.5 @ $2

Saturday

Newcastle Knights ($1.60) VS New Zealand Warriors ($2.30) – McDonald Jones Stadium

Whilst goal kicking might be of some worry, this game looks set to be all out attack. Neither side will be too keen to do the tough stuff and muscle up in defence and both will chance their arm in attack. Plenty of points in this one.

Suggested Bet – Total Match Points Over 48.5 @ $1.90

St George Illawarra Dragons ($2.15) VS Canberra Raiders ($1.70) – WIN Stadium

The Dragons were beyond awful when getting touched up by the Bulldogs! Something I didn’t think I would say a month ago is ‘I like the Raiders in this’. They look to have possibly turned a corner in their season and it is hard to see the Dragons turning last week’s performance around. I must admit I’m not overly confident but we’ll back the Raiders to cover.

Suggested Bet – Canberra Raiders -3.5 @ $1.90

Melbourne Storm ($1.06) VS Wests Tigers ($9.25) – Sunshine Coast Stadium

The Tigers’ attitude was very poor last week when flogged by Parra. Melbourne are a much better side than Parra and if the Tigers turn up with the same attitude, this could get ugly very quickly. I’ll back the consistency of the Storm to get the job done and cover the line.

Suggested Bet – Melbourne Storm -22.5 @ $1.90

Sunday

Parramatta Eels ($1.09) VS Canterbury Bulldogs ($7.25) – Bankwest Stadium

Parra are one of the better downhill runners in the comp, if they get on top early in front of a home crowd, this could be a cricket score very quickly. The Dogs are slowly improving but this shapes as a mountain too high. Eels to cover the line and run downhill.

Suggested bet – Parramatta Eels -20 @ $1.90

Gold Coast Titans ($3.10) VS Manly Sea Eagles ($1.36) – Bankwest Stadium

Manly flogged the Titans earlier in the season and with the return of Turbo, they look very capable of covering the line. They are a solid football team Manly, the win last week further proved that when winning easily without Turbo. The Titans will want to turn up for this otherwise it could get very ugly, very quickly.

Suggested Bet – Manly -8 @ $1.90
