There’s plenty happening tomorrow with the running of The Everest & The Caulfield Cup and our Libby Live @ The Lord Roberts Punters Club. I spoke to Libby this morning and she is pumped for a big day and hopefully plenty of winners. She’ll be ably assisted by the No Morals lads – young gun form experts Jaycin Campbell & Benny Scarf.

Race 3 – G3 Craven Plate – 1800m

#1 Cascadian – $1.70

Yes, he’s short, but he’s a genuine Group 1 horse and looks really well suited in this grade (Group 3). J Mac takes the ride again and he’d deadset win on one of Bryce Stanaway’s at the moment. Use your ODDS BOOST if you can to kickstart the day with Cascadian.

Race 4 – St Leger Stakes – 2600m

#2 Stockman – $3.50

He comes through the Metropolitan like a few of his rivals and meets them all better at the weights after beating them home. Gets his favoured soft conditions again and after being left flat-footed at the top of the straight last start, he knuckled down late with his best work being through the line. He’s the one they all have to beat. Use your SWITCH promo if you can (Bonus Cash back for 2nd or 3rd or double your winnings).

Race 6 – G3 Sydney Stakes – 1200m

#1 Apache Chase – $6.50/$2.50

Whilst he’s a better horse on top of the ground, his run last start in the Premiere Stakes was far too good to ignore. He sat outside the leader and boxed on gamely in the straight to only be beaten home by horses contesting The Everest. Prior to that, he had Alligator Blood and Rothfire form lines, very good form for this. He’ll take some catching at good each way odds.

Race 7 – The Everest – 1200m

#1 Nature Strip – $1.90

It’s hard to tip against the champ, if there was to be a chink in his armour, it was last start when first up after a trip to the other side of the world, but he brained them. The wide alley doesn’t worry me as it would be detrimental for horses to kick up and try and hold Nature Strip and Eduardo out, there’s too much prizemoney in running 5th to get into a speed battle. The world’s best sprinter to do the world’s best sprinter things.

Race 8 – Silver Eagle – 1300m

#2 Startantes – $8/$2.80

Just when she looked set to burst through and be in the finish last start, the gap closed and she went to the line untested. Her only start on a heavy track was way back in her first prep but she was only narrowly beaten behind Hinged that day. I think she’ll get through the ground and she’s ready to explode in this after not having a lot of luck in her last couple. Each way.

Race 7 – G2 Mccafe Sprint- 1000m

#11 Asfoora – $4.80/$1.75

To say she was a good thing beaten last start would be an understatement. She got absolutely poleaxed in the straight when bolting and with any sort of luck, she would’ve won. Prior to that, she was a dominant winner at Sandown when resuming. With even luck in this, she can return to the winner’s enclosure.

Race 8 – G2 Tristarc Stakes – 1400m

#4 Palaisipan – $6.50/$2.45

Her run last start was outstanding when caught three deep without cover and fighting on gamely to only go down by a head. I’m not sure what the inside will be like at Caulfield by this time in the day but if she gets even luck, she only has to replicate her last start effort to be fighting out the finish. Timmy Clark rides and he’s as good as any in the business, so we’ll leave the tactics up to him.

Race 9 – G1 Caulfield Cup – 2400m

#10 Benaud – $9.50/$3.40

He brings the top-notch Weight For Age form into this through Anamoe, who he chased home gamely last start in the Might And Power. That’s the Cox Plate form and he drops from 58kgs to 53kgs in this under the handicap conditions. The gate is no favour on paper, but who knows where they will be getting to on the track by this time of day. The horse is flying and with even luck, he can etch his name into the history books as a Caulfield Cup winner.
