We’ve waited months to watch all these blokes play with balls….wait..what?

June 11, 2020

It’s back to normal! Sort of. Port Adelaide won’t be too worried about playing in front of a crowd of 2000 odd people as per the picture above which was taken at one of their home games last season. That will in most likely increase the average number of people attending their games.

We are trying real hard to be funny here …..well, maybe not that hard. But we do have an 11.30 tee-off for the first time in ages, so you will forgive us if our minds are on our balls and shafts….. haha… brilliant

The AFL knows a thing or two about Thursday night blockbusters and they certainly haven’t missed the mark with this belter. Collingwood and Richmond resume at 1-0 following a pair of respective blowout wins in R1. Collingwood famously defeated Richmond in the preliminary final back in 2018 and backed that performance up with a 44-point victory in Round 2 last year. Richmond, of course, got the last laugh on their rivals though when they won big themselves in Round 19 and they are now shooting for 14 straight wins in succession. All in all, this should wind up close, but Richmond to get the chocolates by 39 or less at $2.o0.

A throbbing crowd of over 2,000 will be in attendance for Showdown 48 on Saturday night, and to their credit, the Crows did put up a fight against the Swans in Round 1  but the Power are coming off a 47-point win over the Suns, The injury front also paints a pretty picture if you’re a Power fan. Port Adelaide by 39 or less at $1.95

Thursday night’s game in Gosford will be more than just a test of physical strength as the Broncos and the Sea Eagles both look to put Round 4 horrors behind them.  The last fortnight for Brisbane has been an absolute nightmare and as for Manly, the less said about the forward pass controversy the better, but the fact remains the same: both of these sides are desperate to get back in the win column.

Anthony Seibold’s side has enjoyed the better part of this matchup recently with back-to-back wins over the last two seasons, but unfortunately, as the odds suggest, there’s a lot to loathe about the Broncos right now, it’s hard to see a fired-up Sea Eagles side losing. Manly by 12 or less at $2.95

The NRL has done a great job with these primetime blockbusters so far, and Friday’s potential Finals preview between the undefeated Eels and Panthers should be no exception. Parramatta may have won controversially last week, but it’s worth remembering they did dominate the first half with three tries in the final 10-minutes. Penrith can also stake their claim this week with another win against a top contender.

With Nathan Cleary is set to return, meaning we could see another thriller similar to last year’s Round 11 clash at Bankwest Stadium. With that in mind, the Panthers do represent enormous value at their current quote. Penrith by 12 or less at $3.50

Moonee Valley gets the focus this week with a 9 race card, and some stand out for us. R8, No.2 Django Freeman is a German import for the Rob Hickmont stable. Plenty of high profile owners and was purchased last year with the intent of working towards big Spring Carnival but broke down early on. Placed at Flemington last start in Australian debut and looks to be a handy chance here. Great opportunity to see how he handles the tight track at the Valley as in all likelihood he will be aimed towards a Cox Plate. Currently at 50’s for the Cox, so a proper showing here would see that number come down significantly. Or drift out if he does SFA. Get on at the $3.90.
