Luckily we still love the races as much as you do, and when it comes staying in touch with your members between major meetings, encouraging a sense of community, and even pre-selling memberships and hospitality packages, letting us run a punters club for you – for free – might just be the ticket.
Punting and saving at the same time?
People are quick to scoff at the idea that you can save money having a punt. We don’t profess for a second that punting is an investment strategy, but it’s a simple fact that the average racing club with 100 members throwing in just $50 a month and having a laugh on the punt for a year, will have over $50,000 in their kitty when the next Cup meeting rolls around. How? 100 members x $50 x 12 weeks = $60,000. The average bookie margin over time is less than 10%, so even if your club has some complete muppets on the punt (like yours truly) and you allow for double those losses, there will still be $50,000 (or $500 a head), to put toward things like membership, a Cup hospitality package, and maybe a little left over to cash out and put back through the tote and the betting ring on the day.
